Retains Position as Malaysia's Most-Listed Hospital for the Third Consecutive Year SUBANG JAYA, June 24 (Bernama) -- Subang Jaya Medical Centre (SJMC), a member of Asia OneHealthcare has further solidified its standing as a premier healthcare institution in the region, securing the No. 1 spot in ASEAN for Gastroenterology and ranking No. 1 in Malaysia across five specialties: Oncology, Orthopaedics, Gastroenterology, Pulmonology, and Paediatrics in
Newsweek’s Best Specialized Hospitals Asia Pacific 2026. This achievement also marks SJMC’s third consecutive year as Malaysia’s most-listed hospital in the prestigious rankings.
On a regional scale, SJMC clinched Top 25 Asia-Pacific rankings for Paediatrics, Orthopaedics, and Gastroenterology. Endocrinology, Cardiac Surgery, Neurology and Oncology were placed within the Top 50, while Cardiology, Neurosurgery and Pulmonology ranked within the Top 75, reflecting the hospital's continued investment in clinical excellence and multidisciplinary expertise. The hospital's specialised services include a liver transplant programme and a multidisciplinary Paediatrics team spanning 12 subspecialties.
Bryan Lin, Chief Executive Officer of SJMC and Regional Chief Executive Officer of Asia OneHealthcare, said the recognition underscores the hospital's continued commitment to advancing specialised care and prioritising the overall patient experience.
“Being recognised across 10 specialties and achieving the highest ranking among Malaysian hospitals in five of them—most notably our paediatric services, which are anchored by a 41-year legacy of trusted care—marks another significant milestone for SJMC. It reflects the depth of expertise across our multidisciplinary teams and our unwavering commitment to delivering specialised care that meets global benchmarks,” said Lin.
“As we continue our transformation into a leading quaternary care hospital, expanding our capabilities in complex care, neuroscience, and transplant services, this recognition inspires us to further invest in our people, technology, and clinical excellence. Our goal remains clear — to ensure every patient receives the highest quality, personalised care possible.”
Compiled by Newsweek in partnership with global data analytics firm Statista, the annual rankings evaluate 925 healthcare institutions across 10 medical specialties in the Asia-Pacific region. The assessment is based on international expert recommendations, hospital quality metrics, and patient experience indicators, providing a comprehensive benchmark of excellence across leading medical centres and academic hospitals.
This latest achievement adds to SJMC's growing list of international accolades. Earlier this year, the hospital was named among
Newsweek's World's Best Hospitals 2026, ranking within the Top 250 hospitals globally and among the Top 10 hospitals in ASEAN.
SJMC also remains the first hospital in the Asia-Pacific region to hold four Australian Council on Healthcare Standards International (ACHSI) Centre of Excellence certifications in Oncology, Cardiology, Gastroenterology, and Paediatric Services.
With more than four decades of operations, SJMC continues to focus on advancing healthcare services and innovation. The hospital maintains a long-standing track record of expanding specialised care in the private sector, including bone marrow transplants and neuroscience services, while supporting Malaysia's position as a trusted healthcare destination in the region.
