PETRONAS Confirms Incident at FSO Sepat

KUALA LUMPUR, May 25 (Bernama) -- PETRONAS confirms that an incident occurred at approximately 12.50 pm yesterday during lifeboat maintenance work at FSO Sepat, located at the Sepat field off the coast of Terengganu, offshore East Coast Peninsular Malaysia. Four (4) contractor personnel were involved.

Regrettably, three (3) personnel were pronounced dead upon arrival at Hospital Sultanah Nur Zahirah, Kuala Terengganu at approximately 5.57 pm yesterday, while one (1) injured personnel was evacuated for medical treatment and remains under observation.

Investigations into the cause of the incident are ongoing in coordination with the relevant authorities.

PETRONAS extends its deepest condolences to the families, friends and colleagues of the deceased. The immediate priority of the company is to support the well-being of those affected.
