SANDAKAN, SABAH, May 6 (Bernama) -- Malaysian healthcare technology company, Mudah Healthtech, marked a significant milestone at the soft launch of its Sihat Xpress Kiosk at the Ministry of Health’s Sandakan Wellness Hub. The event was officiated by the Minister of Health, YB Datuk Seri Dr. Dzulkefly Ahmad, and attended by the MP of Sandakan, YB Puan Vivian Wong Shir Yee.

YB Datuk Seri Dr. Dzulkefly Ahmad commented on the significance of the initiative, “As Malaysia pivots toward a more resilient and preventative healthcare ecosystem, the Sandakan Wellness Hub is a testament to our strategic shift from ‘Sick Care’ to true ‘Health Care’ under the Agenda Nasional Malaysia Sihat (ANMS). We applaud Mudah Healthtech for their synergy in empowering every Malaysian to take ownership of their own wellbeing. By integrating digital innovations like the Sihat Xpress Kiosk, we are democratizing health - making wellness more equitable, inclusive, and accessible to all.”

Echoing the sentiment, Dato’ Dr. Kantha Rasalingam, Founder and Managing Director of Mudah Healthtech, said, “We are committed to serving East Malaysians by bridging the healthcare gap and bringing digital technological advancements to rural communities. The Sihat Xpress Kiosk reinforces our vision to reach up to one million Malaysians in remote areas, providing an accessible digital entry point to the healthcare system for East Malaysians.”

For many in the region, consistent health monitoring is often hindered by distance or logistics. Mudah Healthtech’s Sihat Xpress Kiosk closes the healthcare gap between urban and rural areas, acting as a critical healthcare link - the real-time data collected allows for early detection of health issues, empowering individuals to seek medical advice before minor concerns become chronic conditions.

Solving the Last Mile Challenge
MEASAT Global Bhd (“MEASAT”), as the strategic partner, supports the deployment of these satellite-powered kiosks through its high‑speed satellite connectivity and nationwide support ecosystem, reaching the most remote communities. To date, this initiative has successfully served over 1,000 residents in remote Sabah communities, including Kampung Togop and Kampung Manikulau in Ranau, as well as Kampung Bonor in Sook District.

By leveraging high-speed satellite broadband, MEASAT and Mudah Healthtech, through its Sihat Xpress Kiosk, have successfully dissolved geographical barriers by addressing the “last mile” challenges faced by rural communities ensuring that technology serves as a bridge to equitable healthcare and digital inclusion for all Malaysians.

Yau Chyong Lim, Chief Operating Officer of MEASAT, highlighted the importance of this technological synergy, “At MEASAT, our role goes beyond providing connectivity. We leverage our sovereign satellite capabilities together with a nationwide support ecosystem to drive meaningful digital inclusion, in close collaboration with innovative partners such as Mudah Healthtech. Through Sihat Xpress, we are demonstrating how integrated satellite infrastructure, operational support, and strong partnerships can transform rural healthcare from a logistical challenge into a transformative digital service. We are proud of this collaboration, which directly supports the Ministry of Health’s vision and reinforces our shared commitment to ensuring that no Malaysian is left behind on the journey toward a healthier and more connected nation.”
