KUALA LUMPUR, April 28 (Bernama) -- Jasa Kita Berhad (Jasa Kita) is laying the foundation for its entry into the power and utilities infrastructure sector with the proposed RM10 million acquisition of KT System Sdn Bhd (KT), marking its first major move since Kintan Prima Sdn Bhd emerged as the group’s majority shareholder in Q4 2025.

The acquisition forms part of Jasa Kita’s strategic diversification as the group seeks to emerge as an enabler of critical infrastructure supporting energy transition and data centre growth, with further initiatives expected to be announced in due course.

The KT acquisition involves the purchase of a 100% equity interest in the company from Norza Holdings Sdn Bhd and Ir. Nazarudin Salleh for RM10 million. The transaction is expected to be completed in the second quarter of 2026 and funded mainly through internally generated funds.

Based in Petaling Jaya, Selangor, KT is a full-service electrical engineering company involved in the inspection, testing, commissioning and maintenance of electrical systems for transmission and distribution networks. The company also undertakes both outdoor and indoor electrical works across Malaysia whilst providing consulting and management services within the power sector.

KT is licensed by the Energy Commission to carry out testing and commissioning works of up to 500 kilovolts. It is also registered with the Construction Industry Development Board Malaysia, the Contractor Service Centre and the Ministry of Finance Malaysia.

The company has a proven track record of project delivery for clients such as Tenaga Nasional Berhad, Malaysia Airports Holdings Berhad, PETRONAS, ABB, Siemens, Nur Power, Sabah Electricity Sdn Bhd and Sarawak Energy Berhad.

Malaysia’s power sector is expected to see sustained growth driven by developments in areas such as AI data centres, renewable energy and grid optimisation.

“This KT acquisition creates synergy and serves as a strategic fit by combining KT’s established technical capabilities with Jasa Kita’s longer-term ambition to build a broader engineering platform in the power infrastructure and utilities space,” said Jasa Kita group managing director Dato’ Sri Iskandar Mizal Mahmood.

“Our immediate focus would be on strengthening and optimising KT’s existing capabilities by leveraging its proven track record in project delivery and deep technical expertise,” said Iskandar.

“From there, we will progressively deepen its capabilities, strengthen execution and widen the scope of work to potentially cater for more complex power infrastructure and grid-related projects in line with the Jasa Kita group’s growth plans.”
