SERDANG, Dec 8 (Bernama) -- Putra Business School (PBS) celebrated the accomplishments of its newest cohort of postgraduate graduates at the Convocation Ceremony 2025, held at the Pusat Kebudayaan dan Kesenian Sultan Salahuddin Abdul Aziz Shah, Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM). The ceremony was graced by the Chancellor of PBS, Duli Yang Teramat Mulia Tengku Amir Shah ibni Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah Alhaj, who presided over the conferral of degrees to 178 graduates comprising 135 MBA, 42 PhD, one MSc, and one Postgraduate Certificate recipient.
Also present were YDM Dato’ Syed Haizam Hishamuddin Putra Jamalullail, Chairman of the Yayasan Putra Business School (YPBS) Board of Directors, and Prof. Dr. Azmawani Abd Rahman, S.I.S., FASc, PBS President & Chief Executive Officer.
In her address, Prof. Dr. Azmawani emphasised the school’s academic excellence, international recognition, and the increasing relevance of its programmes in an evolving global landscape.
“The accolades and expansion of our programmes reflect the academic standards and industry relevance of PBS’s curricula, aligning with the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals, the Madani Economy Framework, and the 13th Malaysia Plan 2026–2030,” she said.
A major highlight of the ceremony was the presentation of several prestigious awards recognising the outstanding graduates of the Class of 2025. Three students received the PBS Human Governance Award, honouring their exemplary character, ethical leadership, and community contribution. Two top achievers were honoured with the President’s Awards-one for Research Programmes and one for Coursework Programmes.
The ceremony also celebrated four Graduate-on-Time (GOT) Award recipients, 10 Gold Award recipients, 47 Silver Award recipients, and four Partners’ Award recipients. Collectively, these awards recognised consistent academic excellence, perseverance, and commitment throughout the graduates’ postgraduate journey.
The President’s Award for Coursework Programmes recipient, Syarifah Nur Diana binti Abdul Rashid, credited PBS’s strong academic reputation and global credentials for shaping her learning experience.
“PBS’s strong credentials reinforced my confidence in its academic quality. As one of the first in Malaysia to achieve AACSB accreditation, PBS stands among a global elite of business schools. The BGA membership in 2025 further affirms its international standing. Ranked Top 30 in Asia in the 2025 QS Global MBA Rankings, PBS also leads nationally in employability and return on investment,” she said.
“PBS offers a learning environment that is globally credible, ethically grounded, and strategically agile-exactly the kind of place I envisioned to challenge myself and shape me into a better leader.”
This year’s ceremony not only celebrated academic excellence but also reinforced PBS’s mission of nurturing responsible, ethical, and future-ready leaders. As the institution continues to expand its industry-driven, globally relevant programmes, PBS remains committed to shaping impactful leaders who will contribute to Malaysia’s progress and the global business landscape.
