Generali Malaysia’s Penang office has been awarded the 2025 Penang Green Office Certification at the recent Penang Green Summit Gala Night. This recognition highlights the office’s leadership in sustainable practices, including solar panel installation, energy-efficient lighting, waste reduction and recycling, water conservation, green procurement, and improvements to indoor environmental quality.

KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 3 (Bernama) -- Generali Malaysia is proud to announce that its office space in Menara Generali, has been awarded the GreenRE Silver certification, adding to its existing LEED Green Building Gold certification under the green operations and maintenance category. LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) is the world’s most recognised green building rating, developed by the U.S. Green Building Council while GreenRE is Malaysia’s leading green building certification by the Real Estate and Housing Developer's Association of Malaysia (REHDA), which focuses on local climate and regulatory standards, promoting energy efficiency and environmental responsibility. Additionally, Generali Malaysia’s Penang office is the first branch to be awarded the Penang Green Office certification by the Penang Green Council (PGC) for its solar panel roof, energy-efficient systems, waste reduction, water conservation, and green procurement practices.

This recognition underscores Generali Malaysia’s strong commitment to sustainability and environmental stewardship, in line with its global ambition to be a Lifetime Partner to its customers, employees, and communities. The achievement reflects the company’s adoption of sustainable building practices, efficient energy and water management systems, and eco-conscious workplace design, all of which reduce environmental impact while fostering a healthier, more productive environment for employees and customers.

“We are honoured that Generali Malaysia has achieved these prestigious certifications, which reflect our dedication to embedding sustainability in every aspect of our business. As a company, we recognise our profound impact on the environment and society, and we have been working diligently to integrate sustainable practices into every facet of our operations.” said Fabrice Benard, Chief Executive Officer of Generali Insurance Malaysia Berhad and Country Head of Generali Entities in Malaysia.

With this triple recognition, Generali Malaysia reinforces its commitment to sustainable workplace practices, demonstrating how corporate offices can thoughtfully integrate green design and operations to support long-term environmental and business goals.
