Honoring Malaysia’s finest as MMOWA 2025 brings together the nation’s most trusted and influential financial advisors, a night where integrity shines and professionalism is seen.

JOHOR, Oct 22 (Bernama) -- Applause filled the halls of Loon Sing Convention Hall (Taman Daya) in Johor, marking the successful conclusion of a grand celebration dedicated to Malaysia’s financial industry. The Malaysia Most Outstanding Wealth Advisor (MMOWA 2025) ceremony, hosted by the Majlis Tindakan Pengguna Negara (MTPN), honored 12 professionals from across the nation who represented nine major financial sectors. All were inducted into the Malaysia Top 100 Outstanding Financial Advisors Honor Roll, a milestone that reflects Malaysia’s growing commitment to financial integrity, professional excellence, and public trust. This was not merely an award ceremony but a national reaffirmation of values, a night where trust shone bright, effort was seen, and integrity prevailed.

The event was graced by an esteemed lineup of guests from both government agencies and professional organizations, underscoring its national significance. Among those present were YBhg. Prof. Dato’ Dr. G.P. Doraisamy A/L Govindasamy, Honorary Secretary-General of the Malaysia World Humanitarian Drive; YBhg. Dato’ Paduka Dr. Kevy K.V. Yeo, National President of MTPN and Member of the National Consumer Advisory Council (KPDN); YBrs. Tuan Vincent Lee Seng Chiang, Group Senior General Manager of Media Solutions, Media Chinese International Limited; YBrs. Tuan Mohammad Haris Abd Latiff, Southern Regional Director of MATRADE; YBrs. Tuan ASP Syed Bokhari bin Syed Jaafar, Special Branch Officer of Johor South Police Headquarters; YBrs. Tuan Fadzli bin Jaafar, Southern Regional Director of MyIPO; YBrs. Tuan Khirul Nizam bin Mat Said, Director of the Johor State Landscape Department; YBrs. Puan Mikdalinah Juingkin, Deputy Director of the Johor Women’s Development Department; and YBrs. Tuan Norizam Shah bin Md Yunos, Councillor of the Pasir Gudang City Council (MPPG).

Their presence reflected a unified effort between the public and private sectors to strengthen Malaysia’s position as a regional model for ethical finance and consumer protection. In an era where wealth and trust intertwine, the true strength of a nation lies in advisors who uphold conscience and professionalism.

MTPN President YBhg. Dato’ Paduka Dr. Kevy K.V. Yeo emphasized that MMOWA is not a business competition but a celebration of spirit. “We want society to recognize those who uphold trust with sincerity and professionalism, those who educate consumers, protect the public, and drive ethical progress in the industry. These individuals are Malaysia’s true assets,” he said. He added that MMOWA’s direction aligns with the Bank Negara Malaysia Financial Literacy Framework and the Securities Commission’s Capital Market Masterplan 3 (CMP3), both of which emphasize education, transparency, and consumer empowerment as pillars of national financial growth. Often referred to as the “Top 10 Young Achievers of the Financial Industry,” MMOWA recognizes not only personal success but also long-term contributions in integrity, innovation, education, and social impact.

This year’s awards covered nine major sectors: Wealth Planning and Management, Insurance and Risk Advisory, Loan and Credit Advisory, Real Estate and Property Advisory, Capital Market and Financial Trading Education, Corporate Finance and Investment Banking, Mutual Funds and Capital Markets, Tax and Estate Planning, and Holistic Financial Advisory. All honourees underwent independent verification through MTPN’s Professional Integrity Framework, which included background checks, professional experience evaluations, and public credibility assessments. A non-profit administrative fee of RM500 was collected to ensure audit independence and transparency, reinforcing the award’s non-commercial nature and its alignment with global ethical standards.

Since its establishment, MMOWA has recognized more than a hundred wealth advisors and industry mentors from across various states in Malaysia. Past award-winning institutions include Rockwills International Group, Principal Asset Management, Manulife Investment Management, Hong Leong Assurance, De Infinity Group, Smartbiz Capital, HTS Group, Splendid Wealth Advisory, and Wave Power Group. What they share in common is conducting business with integrity, building careers through professionalism, and inspiring society through education; qualities that have made MMOWA one of the most symbolic and prestigious awards in Malaysia’s wealth management industry.

Among the 87 nominees nationwide, 12 individuals were ultimately recognized for their outstanding professionalism and contribution to society: Prof. Dato’ Dr. Kingston Chang King Hon, Cassey Chong Huei Sze, Nikko Tan Li Rong, Steve Soo Teng Fu, Yeoh Hong Xiang, Bryan Hiu Tze Yen, Kingston Neo, Kelvin Tan Kah Yong, Lee Yun Ping, Ethan Sim Hing Foo, Brandon Tan Kah Wei, and Beina Yap Suet Yee. These names represent the future of Malaysia’s financial industry, proving that integrity remains the nation’s most valuable currency.

Prof. Dato’ Dr. Kingston Chang King Hon, representing the Capital Market and Financial Trading Education sector, shared: “Education is the foundation of wealth. We don’t teach speculation, we teach understanding, discipline, and responsibility. True financial education empowers people to make informed decisions, not emotional ones.” He will assume the role of MMOWA Chairperson for the next term, under the advisory oversight of the MTPN Secretariat, ensuring the award continues to uphold transparency, independence, and professional ethics.

Other honourees echoed similar sentiments: “Technology speeds up the market, but decisions should slow down. Clarifying risks is more valuable than giving answers,” said Yeoh Hong Xiang. “The market is not a casino. Our role is to teach survival through discipline and logic,” added Kelvin Tan Kah Yong. “My mission is to simplify complexity and build long-term thinking,” said Cassey Chong Huei Sze. “Debt restructuring is about giving families financial oxygen, not more loans,” shared Ethan Sim Hing Foo. “Substance matters more than image. Trust is earned through genuine problem-solving,” noted Lee Yun Ping. “Educated clients stay calm in chaos, that’s the true success of financial education,” expressed Bryan Hiu Tze Yen. “Investing is lifelong training. The right mindset makes time your ally,” concluded Beina Yap Suet Yee.

MTPN National Vice President YBrs. Tuan Noorman bin Kamsani noted that MMOWA represents more than recognition, it embodies national standards of integrity. “Every recipient was independently reviewed and publicly verified. Our aim is to make integrity the competitive edge of Malaysia’s financial industry,” he stated. Looking ahead, MTPN will collaborate with educational institutions such as the International Financial Consultant Certified Institute (IFCCI) to develop an international evaluation framework and continuing education system. Regional judging chapters will be established across Asia to strengthen MMOWA’s professionalism and global benchmarking standards. Guest of Honour Prof. Dato’ Dr. G.P. Doraisamy, Honorary Secretary-General of the Malaysia World Humanitarian Drive, highlighted Malaysia’s role in setting a moral compass for the region’s financial community. “Professionalism must go global, while integrity must stay local. When Malaysia balances world-class standards with local conscience, we become Asia’s most trusted hub for financial advisors,” he said.

MTPN President Dato’ Paduka Dr. Kevy Yeo K.V. reaffirmed that the Council will continue to collaborate with regulators, educators, and private institutions to strengthen financial literacy, investment education, and consumer protection. Through standardized evaluation, transparent certification, and continuous education, Malaysia’s financial advisory industry aims to become ASEAN’s model for integrity-driven finance. “Financial advisors form part of a nation’s trust system. When a country values integrity, its economy becomes unshakable. Through MMOWA, we want the world to witness Malaysia’s strength in ethical leadership,” he added. The conclusion of MMOWA 2025 marked more than an award ceremony, it symbolized the inheritance of values over vanity. In a profit-driven world, there are still people who choose honesty over hype, sincerity over sales, and diligence over display. “Awards can be replicated, but spirit cannot. Because there are those who take their work seriously, the world remains worthy of trust.”
