As the
Chair of ASEAN for 2025, Malaysia will host the
47th ASEAN Summit and Related Summits from
26 to 28 October 2025 at the
Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre (KLCC), located in the heart of Malaysia’s capital city,
Kuala Lumpur.
Guided by the theme
“Inclusivity and Sustainability”, Malaysia’s chairmanship focuses on strengthening ASEAN’s efforts towards building a more resilient, people-centred, and forward-looking region. The theme reflects Malaysia’s commitment to ensuring that all segments of society benefit from ASEAN’s growth, while advancing long-term strategies for environmental, economic, and social sustainability.
The 47
th ASEAN Summit and Related Summits will serve as a key platform for fostering deeper collaboration and addressing regional and global challenges in a cohesive and inclusive manner. Malaysia will play a central role in shaping the regional agenda, promoting economic integration, political cooperation, and sustainable development among the ASEAN Member States and ASEAN’s Dialogue Partners.
Members of the media are kindly encouraged to complete the registration process at their earliest convenience and provide the necessary information to support the smooth and efficient organisation of the meetings.
1. MEDIA ACCREDITATION1.1 Registration for the 47th ASEAN Summit and Related Summits Accreditation is required for all journalists, photographers, broadcasters, and Official Media (OM) from ASEAN Member States (AMS) and Timor-Leste.

1.2 Registration RequirementsApplicants must upload:
● A recent passport-size photograph.
● Updated media profile.
● Valid press card.
● A letter of assignment endorsed by their media organisation (compulsory for all, including OM AMS).
Once approved, the media representatives will receive accreditation passes and information kits at the
International Media Centre (IMC). The passes are mandatory for access to all meeting venues and must be worn at all times.

3. ACCOMMODATION Media representatives are responsible for their own travel and accommodation arrangements
. The organisers bear no responsibility for expenses or third-party services.
Bookings should be made directly with hotels. Accredited media representatives are responsible for their own transportation to and from the IMC.
4. DRESS CODE Accredited media representatives are required to wear business attire and formal footwear throughout the coverage period.
Jeans are strictly prohibited at all official venues.
Accreditation passes must be worn at all times for security and identification purposes.

Host Broadcaster (HB) for the
47th ASEAN Summit and Related Summits, delivering high-quality broadcast coverage of key official events.
RTM’s Host Broadcaster Services (HBS) will ensure broadcast-grade video content delivery, including live feeds and recorded footage, accessible both on-site and remotely.
These services will be available at the
International Media Centre (IMC), Hall 1, Ground Level, KLCC.

th ASEAN Summit and Related Summits. A limited number of passes will be issued to journalists, photographers and cameramen who have been cleared to cover selected meetings within designated time slots.
The Official Media of ASEAN Member States (OM AMS) must register in advance to obtain access for relevant meetings.

9. MEDIA INTERVIEWS Interview requests must be submitted via the Interview Request Form available at the IMC or
by scanning the QR code below:
* Each media representative may submit up to five (5) requests.
* Priority will be given to the top three (3) requests per applicant.

Weather: Average temperature 24-32 °C (75-90 °F), warm and humid with occasional rain showers.
Electricity: 240V/50Hz, Type G three-pin plugs. Please bring suitable travel adaptors.
Currency: Malaysian Ringgit (MYR). Currency exchange is available at airports, hotels, and major shopping centres. Credit cards and e-wallets are widely accepted.
Public Security & Safety Advisory: During the 47th ASEAN Summit and Related Summits, heightened security measures and temporary traffic diversions will be in place across the city. Members of the media are strongly encouraged to plan their travel time accordingly to ensure punctual arrival.
11. AIRPORT ARRANGEMENTS AND VISA REQUIREMENTS Holders of Diplomatic/Official/Service passports for AMS do not require a visa to enter Malaysia. They must, however, present the following upon arrival at KL International Airport (KLIA):
i) Official invitation for the 47
th ASEAN Summit and Related Summits; and
ii) A valid passport with at least six (6) months’ validity from the date of entry and at least two (2) blank pages.
Those holding non-ASEAN passports may need to obtain an entry visa before travelling to Malaysia. Please contact the nearest Malaysian Mission for visa information.
All travellers are required to complete the Malaysia Digital Arrival Card three (3) days before departure via:
