Green Innovation Science Project 2025 Winners PhotoKUANTAN, Malaysia, July 16 (Bernama) -- BASF PETRONAS Chemicals Sdn Bhd (BPC) in partnership with Green Growth Asia Foundation (GGAF), proudly hosted the second Eco Schools Green Science & Technology Carnival at Sekolah Berasrama Penuh Integrasi Kuantan. Building on the resounding success of its inaugural edition, this year's carnival underscored the unwavering commitment of both organisations towards fostering a sustainable future. The event brought together 108 schools and 1,200 students from across Malaysia comprising 88 schools participating in the Green Innovation Science Projec (GISPRO) competition and 20 local schools attending the carnival to celebrate the innovation, sustainability and green technology education.
Supported by the Ministry of Education Malaysia, the event featured the GISPRO competition finalists showcasing their groundbreaking projects. The carnival brought together a diverse group of students, educators, corporate leaders, and volunteers, providing an immersive experience designed to ignite curiosity and passion for environmental stewardship and scientific innovation. The carnival also provided students with opportunities to engage with industry leaders and explore careers in green technology through interactive lab-based exhibitions focused on sustainability.
The GISPRO 2025 competition received 168 video submissions from 88 schools nationwide, involving over 1,000 participants. Fifteen finalists presented innovative projects aimed at addressing environmental challenges, demonstrating creativity and commitment to green solutions. In addition, 30 student volunteers from Universiti Malaysia Pahang Al-Sultan Abdullah, along with BPC employee volunteers, guided attendees through hands-on experiments and activities, enriching the learning experience.

Highlighting the event’s importance, Yusof Bin Kassim, Timbalan Pengarah Pendidikan, Jabatan Pendidikan Negeri Pahang stated, “The event demonstrated the importance of nurturing young minds to champion an innovation mindset, embrace green technology, and understand the crucial role of sustainability for the future of our planet. This is in line with the government’s commitment to strengthen the field of STEM in the country.”
