KUALA LUMPUR, July 11 (Bernama) -- Dato’ Seri Utama Haji Mohamad Bin Haji Hasan, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Malaysia, received His Excellency Wang Yi, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the People's Republic of China, for a bilateral meeting on 10 July 2025 in Kuala Lumpur. The meeting was held in conjunction with the 58th ASEAN Foreign Ministers’ Meeting (AMM) and Related Meetings.

During the meeting, both Foreign Ministers exchanged views on ASEAN-China dialogue relations and reaffirmed their commitment to further strengthening bilateral cooperation between Malaysia and China. The Ministers acknowledged the importance of advancing strategic partnership initiatives, including economic collaboration, regional connectivity, and sustainable development. Both sides followed up on the successful State Visit and the Joint Statement on Deepening the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership and Building a Malaysia–China Community with a Shared Future. Key areas include cooperation in TVET, AI, security, digital economy, R&D, and the Two Countries Twin Parks initiative.

Malaysia reaffirmed full commitment as Country Coordinator for ASEAN-China Dialogue Relations (2024–2027) and expressed appreciation for China’s support and trust in Malaysia’s leadership as the Chair of ASEAN in 2025.

The meeting concluded on a positive note, with both sides reaffirming their shared aspiration to foster closer ties, enhance regional peace and security, and promote mutual prosperity.
