KUALA LUMPUR, June 9 (Bernama) -- Malaysia is set to make an impactful presence at the World Expo Osaka 2025, which will take place from 13th April to 13th October 2025. Spearheaded by the Ministry of International Trade and Industry (MITI), Malaysia’s participation at this global event reflects the country’s commitment to innovation, cultural diplomacy, and sustainable development.

As part of Malaysia’s showcase, the Malaysian Palm Oil Council (MPOC)will be one of the driving forces during the Ministry of Plantation and Commodities' dedicated week, scheduled from5th to 16th June 2025. In a powerful blend of education, entertainment and national branding; Malaysian Palm Oil Council (MPOC) is collaborating with the internationally acclaimed animation studio, Les' Copaque Production Sdn. Bhd. (LCP), to promote awareness of Malaysia’s sustainable palm oil industry.

In support of Malaysian Palm Oil Council (MPOC)’s presence and to infuse a uniquely Malaysian cultural dimension into the Expo, Les' Copaque Production Sdn. Bhd. (LCP)and its world-famous Intellectual Property (IP) that is Upin&Ipin; will be featured prominently in multiple segments of the event. Honoured in the Art and Animations Hall of Fame,Les' Copaque Production Sdn. Bhd. (LCP) will also present selected scenes and a full episode of Upin&IpinMinyakSawit (Season 18), complete with English and Japanese subtitles to cater to the Expo’s international audience.This episode of Upin&IpinMinyakSawit (Season 18), which illustrates the role and benefits of palm oil in daily life and had thus far garnered worldwide views of 56 millionviews and counting on YouTube alone– isremarkably designed to reach and resonate with international audiences of all ages. Through the relatable and beloved characters of Upin&Ipin, viewers will gain insight into Malaysia’s sustainable palm oil practices and its significance in global food systems – delivered in an engaging and culturally rich format. This screening will not only celebrates Malaysia’s animation industry but also supports Malaysian Palm Oil Council (MPOC)’s sustainability message through engaging storytelling. Further enhancing and complementing this immersive experience, Upin&Ipin mascots will also appear daily from 9th to 15th June 2025, offering 30-minute meet-and-greet sessions, possiblylive performances, and notablegift giveaways,creating moments of joy and cultural connection for visitors of all ages and all walks of life.
