BUKIT JALIL, June 3 (Bernama) -- MIMOS, the National Applied R&D Centre under the Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation (MOSTI), has once again proven its position as a powerhouse of innovation at the recent 36th International Invention, Innovation & Technology Exhibition (ITEX) 2025. All 21 of MIMOS’ submitted innovations earned accolades, securing 17 Gold, 4 Silver medals, and two of the most prestigious honours, the Malaysia Innovative Product Award (MIPA) and the coveted PATRON Award for achieving the highest number of Gold wins.

This landmark achievement highlights MIMOS’ continued leadership in deep technology innovation and reinforces its mission to accelerate Malaysia’s transformation into a digitally driven, high-tech nation.

MIMOS High Precision Indoor Tracking System clinched the MIPA Award, a distinction reserved for commercialised innovations with national impact. The system provides ultra-accurate, real-time indoor location tracking, with possible applications in healthcare, manufacturing, logistics, and security that are critical to these sectors.

Among MIMOS’ Gold award-winning innovations are trailblazing technologies such as:
· System and Method for Defect Detection Based on Synthetic Defect Images, a high-accuracy inspection solution for manufacturing using synthetic defect images and advanced discriminator generator optimisation.
· Non-Invasive NIR Glucose Detection (REVA In-Vitro), a needle-free, real-time glucose monitoring offering a revolutionary alternative to conventional blood testing.
· Digital Twin and 3D Simulation for Unmanned Ground Vehicles (UGVs), enhancing unmanned vehicle testing and optimisation in plantation operations.
· Edge-Based Sensor Fusion for Accurate Tree Mapping and Environment Awareness in Robotics, a patented robotics innovation enabling autonomous navigation in GPS-limited outdoor environments for smart agriculture and forestry.

Notable Silver medal winners include:
· UGV Occupancy Mapping Using Aerial Data, elevating autonomous navigation accuracy.
· Modular IoT-Enabled Egg Incubator for SME Poultry Producers, empowering poultry producers with modular, smart incubation technology.

Held in Kuala Lumpur from 29 to 31 May 2025, ITEX 2025 attracted more than 900 inventions from over 15 countries. As Asia’s premier innovation exhibition, ITEX serves as a platform for commercialising new inventions and bridging innovators with potential investors.

“MIMOS’ performance at ITEX 2025 exemplifies MIMOS’ capacity to lead in deep tech innovation. Every accolade represents a step forward in our national mission to become a globally competitive Digital Nation,” said Dr. Saat Shukri Embong, Acting President and Group CEO of MIMOS.
