PROFEX 2026 CALLS ON MALAYSIANS TO DISCOVER PROFESSIONS, CAREERS AND FUTURE OPPORTUNITIES

KUALA LUMPUR, Sept 28 (Bernama) -- Malaysians, particularly parents, students, young people and working professionals, are encouraged to attend the Professional Conference & Exhibition 2026 (PROFEX 2026) and Malaysia Professional Day, a national platform bringing together Malaysia’s professional, government, industry and education communities under one roof.

President of Balai Ikhtisas Malaysia (BIM), Prof. ChM Dr. Juan Joon Ching, highlighted the importance of wider public engagement with the professional community during his appearance on RTM’s Selamat Pagi Malaysia on Friday.

PROFEX 2026, themed “Uniting Professions, Transforming Malaysia’s Future,” will be held on 29 and 30 September 2026 at the KLGCC Convention Centre, Kuala Lumpur. The event will bring together professional bodies, industry leaders, academia, government agencies, private companies, students and emerging talent.

The event will gain added national significance with YAB Dato' Seri Anwar bin Ibrahim scheduled to officiate PROFEX 2026 and launch Malaysia Professional Day, underscoring the important contribution of professionals to Malaysia’s economic, social, technological and human-capital development.

Prof Juan said PROFEX should not be viewed as an event only for established professionals, but also as a platform for families and young Malaysians to understand the wide range of professional, education and career pathways available.

“We strongly encourage parents to bring their children and young people to PROFEX. They will have the opportunity to meet professionals from different disciplines, understand what these professions do, and explore possible education and career pathways for their future,” he said.

Visitors will also be able to engage with participating government agencies and strategic partners, including PERKESO and MYFutureJobs, as well as universities, private-sector companies and industry organisations. Their participation will provide students, graduates and jobseekers with additional exposure to employment opportunities, workforce development, career guidance and industry expectations.

For working professionals, PROFEX offers opportunities to connect across disciplines, build networks, exchange knowledge and explore collaboration, innovation and future skills. Private-sector participation will also create opportunities for professionals and businesses to identify partnerships, talent and new areas of cooperation.

BIM represents 23 professional associations and more than 120,000 professionals, giving PROFEX a strong multidisciplinary character and enabling visitors to discover a broad spectrum of expertise in one venue. 

He said future challenges can no longer be addressed by professions working independently, as engineers, scientists, healthcare professionals, technologists, architects, logistics, planners and experts in sustainability, finance, governance and artificial intelligence increasingly need to work together.

The two-day programme will feature professional exhibitions, conferences, industry forums, networking opportunities and career-focused activities, enabling visitors to interact directly with professional organisations, government agencies and industry representatives.

“Whether you are a parent thinking about your child’s future, a student exploring your career direction, a graduate seeking opportunities or an experienced professional looking for new connections, there is something at PROFEX for you,” Juan said.

He urged Malaysians to attend, discover the professions, explore career pathways, meet Malaysia’s professional community and learn about opportunities shaping the nation’s future.
