As TLS certificate lifespans shorten, TLS Connect helps growing businesses simplify certificate management with automation tailored to their needsSINGAPORE, Aug 18 (Bernama-BUSINESS WIRE) -- GMO GlobalSign, Inc., a global Certificate Authority, today announced the availability of TLS Connect by GMO to businesses in the Asia Pacific and Middle Eastern markets. First introduced in April for customers in the West, TLS Connect is a Certificate Lifecycle Management (CLM) tool designed specifically for small and medium enterprises (SMEs). TLS Connect automates public trust TLS certificate deployment and renewal, allowing SMEs to strengthen security, maintain regulatory compliance and reduce business risk. The offering from GMO GlobalSign fills a critical need in the CLM market: SMEs that rely on TLS certificates but lack in-house Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) expertise, or a straightforward way to implement a CLM solution.
TLS Connect by GMO availability is a significant development for companies adjusting to a series of global TLS certificate lifespan reductions. Per the April
2025 vote at the Certificate Authority/Browser Forum (CA/B), the first TLS certificate reduction occurred on March 15, 2026 – dropping lifespans from 398 to 200 days. Another “drop” to 100-day validity occurs March 15, 2027. When the final reduction takes place on March 15, 2029, the lifespan of TLS certificates will be 47 days.
“TLS Connect has provided us with a user-friendly process, offering a single dashboard to control multiple nodes. While we have yet to explore all of its features, overall, TLS Connect is a time-saving and efficient app for managing TLS certificates,” said Chandra Mohana, Senior Officer & Support Engineer, Konkan Specialty Polyproducts Pvt. Ltd.
Enterprise-Style CLM Scaled Down for Small Businesses in APAC and the Middle EastThis new solution is particularly relevant for the APAC and Middle East regions, where SMEs are a considerable part of the economy: roughly 94% for the United Arab Emirates (UAE) market, 97% for Australia, and 99% for Singapore and the Philippines.
Within these regions, there are multiple cybersecurity regulations affecting SMEs:
While these policies raise the bar for protection, they also increase management and oversight workload for cybersecurity. Unfortunately, the professionals needed to implement them remain in short supply.
ISC2's 2025 Cybersecurity Workforce Study found that a third of organizations lack the resources to adequately staff their security teams, and roughly as many say they cannot afford to hire people with the skills they need. For MSMEs — which typically operate without dedicated security hires or in-house training budgets — that gap is felt even more sharply, making automation not a luxury but a necessity.
This reinforces the case for products such as GMO GlobalSign’s TLS Connect by GMO, which enables SMEs to automate their certificates at an affordable price point. With built-in certificate discovery, an intuitive interface and streamlined functionality, TLS Connect by GMO makes certificate automation and management accessible without the administrative and financial overhead typically associated with traditional CLM tools, making it well suited for smaller environments and constrained IT budgets, while still delivering the automation required to operate at scale.
TLS Connect deploys on premises for centralized certificate management across endpoints.
“The challenge of managing TLS certificates is no longer limited to large enterprises,” said Aditya Anand, Head of Business Unit for TLS & CLM CA Division, GMO GlobalSign. “As certificate lifespans shrink, SMEs face the same risks of missed renewals and unexpected outages, often without the tools to manage them efficiently. TLS Connect by GMO delivers automated certificate lifecycle management designed specifically for smaller enterprises. For this reason, we believe TLS Connect by GMO will be well-suited to businesses across APAC and the Middle East as it is a simple, affordable way to stay ahead of certificate changes.”
